Cancer

As I sit here trying to find the words, I don't even really know where to start. This topic sucks... and as much as I hate to admit it, it is becoming a huge reality in everyday life. I have lost many special people in my life to cancer, so it is nothing unfamiliar to me. However, this sweet girl has been on my heart for a good while now and it has really began to get to me.

We all go about our day complaining about the simplest things.. Today I complained because Cody didn't do the Elf on a shelf the way I wanted him to.. Something so stupid and simple, while others are out there just trying to hold on to the little bit of life that they have left. I constantly yell at Blake for doing something that any 2 year old would do, while others out there are just wishing they had a 2 year old to bless their lives. Tomorrow is my 24th birthday, but many people will not make it to their 24th birthday. We all take so many things for granted each and every day. I pray that God reminds me each time I begin to complain that someone out there would love to be in my position and that He will put me right back in my place.

With that being said, the real reason behind this post is because Yanna needs our prayers. This sweet girl has been fighting an ugly battle for almost a year now and she needs our prayers now more than ever. Please continue to pray for Yanna and her family through this battle. They are all so very strong and have kept their faith in God through all of this.

Thanks,
Kim

Busy Bee

Hello!

I know it has been a few weeks since I have been able to post, but it has been a very busy few weeks and I am having to make several adjustments during such a busy season!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a great time seeing all of our family, but it is never long enough! Also, Cody's family celebrations resulted in about 20 of them coming down with the stomach bug...luckily, Blake and I escaped it, but Cody was one of those who wasn't so lucky. Then, on our way home we were having trouble with one of my tires and we had to stop in Gatesville to buy a new one.. so that was another 2 hrs of being gone that we were not planning. We decided we are staying home for Christmas!! Okay, not really.. but it did cross our minds!

I began a new job here in Groesbeck the Monday that we came home from our Thanksgiving break. I think it will be a great fit for me and they have already began to make me feel at home. I am looking forward to learning all of the new tasks that I will be doing each day and I am grateful to be working in the Accounting department, which is what I went to school for.

Sorry this is not the most exciting blog post, but I have to get back to work! I will be working on a new look for the blog as soon as I can, but for now I have too much to do. I have decided to make it a tradition to make Blake a photobook each Christmas that has pictures of the last year, so I am currently working on that. Last night I stayed up until 4 am wrapping presents. My to-do list is slowly being checked off a little at a time.

Hope everyone has a goodnight!

New at this

Hey there!

I created this blog over 2 years ago right after Blake was born, but that was as far as I ever got with it. I have a soon to be (one of these days) sister-in-law who has a super cute blog and I absolutely love reading each blog she writes. I really envy the fact that she has blogged about the different milestones that her kids have gone through and that is something I really wish I had done. I guess we can give it a try on Baby Ashley #2 in a few years.

A month or so ago I began trying to fix it up and make everything look "cute" and I have finally done enough to it, but still have much more to go, to finally try my first blog. I will be the first to admit that I have absolutely no clue what I am doing. Please hang in there and hopefully this new blogging experience will get better for both you and I!

With that being said, I picked a cute Fall theme and now that I finally have it ready, Fall is almost over. In fact, we put up our Christmas tree today. This is probably the earliest I have ever put up our Christmas tree & decorations, but we will be leaving next weekend, gone all week long, and will be way too tired to put it out when we get back.

We had a really great weekend as a family! I know I am supposed to be completely supportive as a "Coach's Wife", but I can not tell you how thrilled I am that football season is over for the Groesbeck Goats. They had a great year and I am glad to be a part of it, but I really hate seeing Cody miss out on the little things that Blake does. This was the first weekend he has had off since 2 a days started in August. We took Blake to the zoo in Waco, did a little Christmas shopping for our favorite nieces and nephews, and ended the night with some family fun at Chuck E Cheese! I know that may not seem super exciting for everyone, especially most people my age, but seeing that smile on your child's face is totally worth it. Blake absolutely loves animals... each and every one of them (except for the Groesbeck Goat mascot) and that has easily became his favorite thing to play with next to cars.
